It doesn't seem so.
why is so surprising for you?

Not far from you, In the province of Granada, in Sierra Nevada ( do I have to translate that??) there's snow 8 months out of 12.
And in the half-north of Spain where I am currently living, is pretty much the same thing.
so what is all the fuss about?
Maybe the right headline for you was "snow in my village"...

I see your point; however, the primary readers of my blog are friends and family back in the US who are not as aware of Spain's geography and climate extremes as you and I are. Apparently neither are the UK tourists, who show up for winter holidays only packing their tank tops and shorts expecting to get a suntan. :-) Additionally, the winter here has been particularly harsh, and as I mentioned in an earlier posting incredibly devastating to our local agriculture (eg, avocados are selling for 3 euros a kilo). So I suppose that is what all the fuss is about....
